Target Audience Research - 1
The first film we researched that has a similar target audience as our film is, The Edge of Seventeen. It is a film about the hard high school life for the character Nadine and how she gets through it. I chose this because it is a teen movie that would have a similar audience as my group and I's film. The age range would be 13-19 year old's who can relate to the subjects mentioned in the movie. The film started in the Toronto Film Festival, where the movie closed out the festivities. Then was released in theaters. They marketed their product towards younger people by persuading people that it is a relate able and seemingly funny, coming of age film you have to see. They also reference the movie as a coming-of-age movie about today’s teens, and cite more current movies like Mean Girls and Juno as similar movies.
