Target Audience

Our audience for our film is ages around 13-19 females mainly but not limited to males.  Most likely more appealing to females in high school and middle school, due to it being a coming of age film that is a drama and warming comedy. However it also has a mystery aspect with a plot line that could attract older people. Geography likely North America but not limited. We will be able to target our auidence with ads through social media mostly and television ads. Due to a high level of teenagers that will see social media ads.

Conventions/Social Groups

The social groups my film is directed at is teenagers. It creates a story about the lifestyle changes a teen girl goes through when she moves from her home to a new town. It creates a meaning that not everything has to be bad and that moving can be a good thing. Ana the main character now has an opportunity to meet new people after moving. This is shown when she meets the new boy next door. Which creates a more happy mood in her 'dull' experience with moving. Also there is mystery behind when her father says that he doesn't want what happen in the last town to reoccur. This shows that there is more to come in the next after the 2 minute introduction which could be more life lessons possibly learnt from the film. Conventions of this genre is that most are in highschools with stereotypical characters. There are many cliques and mean girls in teen movies, that the films are usually centered around.

Feedback/Revisions

So far my group and i have accomplished 14 blog posts and our finished midterm draft of our film. On our finished midterm draft we accomplished filming the beginning intro scenes from our town which was the scenery. In those clips the actors were introduced and the producers etc.  In the revisions my group and I plan on changing the font of the title screens and adding a title to the end of the 2 minutes. From those I edited them by trimming and cutting them also overlaying audio. Based on our feedback these are some of the revisions we will be making. We started but didn't finish filming the main part of our film. We did not have the right length of time, so that is something we need to do when we do revisions. On revisions we will re film the main part of the film. We will film it in daytime because we received feedback that the lighting was not good. Also will film with a house that doesn't have Christmas lights up to stop confusion of the seasons. Also we will change the ac...

Film Planning/Production - Filming Schedule

My group Sydney and I have came up with a plan for when we are completing each task before the mid term draft is due. It is due on the 21st of December. We have decided that this Sunday we will film with our actors. We will be filming all day to make sure we get all the scenes needed. However we also need another day of filming to film the scenery where the actors are not needed for that day. We will be filming that after school on Monday of next week. It will only take a few hours to film that part. That way I have Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to edit and finalize the draft for Friday. If we do not have enough clips of film that week we will go and re-film whatever we need so we can finish. On Friday we will submit it.
